Put Down That Shovel

Vitter said there are ways to stimulate the economy without piling up massive amounts of debt. “When you’re in a deep fiscal hole, the first thing you should do is stop digging,” [Vitter] said. (Shreveport Times, 2/20/10)
Maybe Vitter is the one who needs to put down the shovel. In 2008, Vitter voted for George Bush’s $150 billion economic stimulus package. Additionally, between 2002 and 2006, Vitter voted to increase the debt ceiling five times, adding nearly $3.5 trillion to the Federal debt.
